STEAM Teacher & SPARK Coordinator

Location: On-Site

Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with flex hours that could run in the 7:30am-5:45pm range, depending on the day

Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and highly organized STEAM Teacher & SPARK Coordinator to join our educational team. This unique role combines innovative STEAM instruction with the coordination and management of after school clubs including our SPARK program, designed to engage 3rd and 4th grade girls. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering young learners, fostering creativity and curiosity, and building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

This is an on-site, year-round position requiring flexibility, professionalism, and a positive, child-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities

STEAM Instruction On Creative Suite Team

  • Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) lessons for students ages 8–14.
  • Ex: Scratch, TinkerCad, Microbits, VR, robotics, coding, AI(maybe), Google Classroom, video production, IPad and Mac skills, digital literacy skills.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
  • Integrate project-based learning and real-world applications into the curriculum.
  • Assist with planning special activities, enrichment opportunities, and student events.

After school clubs and SPARK Program Coordination and Lead Teacher

  • Coordinate, lead, teach and manage clubs including the SPARK program, our after-school enrichment initiative designed to introduce 3rd and 4th grade girls to the OSS experience.
  • Work collaboratively with SPARK support team of teachers and OSS student Mentors.
  • Serve as a key connection point for prospective students, helping to build a pipeline of future OSS candidates through engaging, hands-on STEAM exploration; at OSS we include the A for art and write STEAM v. STEM.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students and families, serving as a mentor and role model to encourage their interest in Our Sisters' School.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the Outreach Coordinator to ensure successful program implementation, from scheduling and materials to special events and communications.
  • Monitor program outcomes and maintain accurate records to assess the program's impact on student engagement and OSS pipeline development.
  • Organize program schedules, materials, events, and communications.

  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, families, and administration to ensure successful program implementation.

Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized records, reports, and program documentation.
  • Support school initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Manage supplies and resources related to STEAM and SPARK programming.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching STEAM subjects to students ages 8–14.
  • Experience working effectively with elementary and middle school-aged girls.
  • Strong instructional, classroom management, and lesson planning skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Positive attitude, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children.

Preferred

  • Experience coordinating educational programs or extracurricular initiatives.
  • Background in project-based learning, makerspaces, robotics, coding, engineering, or related STEAM programs.
