Quality Engineer

QUALITY ENGINEER NEEDED - LORAIN , OHIO

A Leading Automotive Supplier near Lorain, Ohio needs a Quality Engineer. Previous Quality Engineering Experience in a Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required.

This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all production and externally sourced components meet safety, regulatory, and rigorous automotive industry standards.

Lead root-cause analysis and defect investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa diagrams) to implement permanent corrective actions.

Develop, review, and maintain IATF 16949 documentation, instructions, and process FMEAs.

Perform internal quality audits and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Parts Per Million (PPM) and cost of poor quality.

Act as the technical liaison to ensure changes in manufacturing or supplier processes do not negatively impact final assembly quality.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Previous Quality Engineering Experience in a Tier 1 Automotive Plant is Required.

Typically 5+ years in Quality Assurance, with a strong preference for experience in the Automotive Seating or Metal Stamping / Welding Industry.

Problem-solving (8D methodologies), data analysis, understanding of APQP, SPC, FMEA, and excellent customer-supplier communication.

Knowledgeable with IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems, GD&T, and Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Strong analytical problem-solving, blueprint reading, and cross-functional communication abilities.
