RT, MT, PT Lvl 2 Technician

The main function of the RT (Welding Quality), MT, PT Technician Lvl 2 is to be responsible for the completion of inspection, including initial interpretation, reporting and billing with welding experience. Senior Technicians are thoroughly familiar with the scope and methods of NDT being used and should perform assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of Assistant Technicians. This position is located in your Bakersfield, CA facility.

The main duties include

  • Operates tools and equipment to accomplish job assignments and client requirements
  • Inspect and interpret readings as required in real time, to determine areas of interest.
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications
  • Set-up and calibrate all equipment used, interpret, evaluate, and document results through formal reports
  • Safely Operates company vehicles and strictly adhere to company safety regulations

Pay range for this position is USD $38 to $45 per hour. Pay range for this job level is a general guideline only for States that enforces pay transparency and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, certifications, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to be certified in accordance with Aegeus written practice in the following methods: RT, MT, PT Lvl 2
  • Ability to set up and standardize equipment, conducts tests, interpret and evaluate findings in compliance with required specifications, standards and or customer specifications
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the techniques and method in which are to be employed
  • Be capable of developing written work instructions from approved general procedures

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical Background in NDT methods and techniques preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years of NDT experience with full documentation of prior training, experience and certification is required
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Certificates and Licenses Required

  • CNDT Level II certification: MT, PT, RT (Welding Quality) Lvl 2, UTT Lvl 2 a plus, not required
  • Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program

Working Conditions

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
  • May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
  • Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume.
  • Ability to travel when required, nationally, up to 35% of the time.
