General Responsibilities include providing one-on-one nutrition assessment, counseling, education and ongoing management for patients age birth-21 years and their families. Most common pediatric conditions seen for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) includes failure to thrive, obesity and weight management, food allergies/intolerance, gastrointestinal disorders, feeding difficulties, enteral nutrition support, eating disorders, cardiac conditions, oncology and ketogenic diet. Also participates in several different subspecialty clinics including Cystic Fibrosis, Genetic and metabolic disorders.

Qualifications

Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science or closely related field and up to 1 yr of post degree course work and internship. Requires 2 years of previous experience as a dietician. Pediatric experience and Master's degree is a plus. Registered Dietitian license required. Work requires the analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analysis, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs. Work requires the ability to counsel and educate patients and their families, assign and follow up on the work of other employees, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
