Clinical Research Scientist

DataUnite, Inc.

Clinical Research Scientist / Clinical Data Scientist

DataUnite | San Francisco Bay Area Preferred (Remote Considered)

DataUnite is shaping the next generation of privacy-preserving, multi-institutional real-world evidence research. We partner with leading academic health systems to answer clinically meaningful questions without centralizing patient-level data.

We're looking for a highly independent Clinical Research Scientist / Clinical Data Scientist who can take a study from idea → feasibility → analysis → publication. If you enjoy working directly with EHR data, writing your own Python, and publishing research that matters, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Translate rough study concepts into feasibility analyses, digging into EHR data to assess whether the cohort exists, sample sizes hold up, and data quality supports the study.
  • Write your own Python to profile EHR datasets, build and validate cohorts, and judge data fitness for the research question.
  • Draft protocols, statistical analysis plans, and study specifications grounded in what the data can support.
  • Carry feasible studies through analysis to publication and conference presentation.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Advanced degree (MPH, MS, PhD, MD, or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, public health, medicine, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python
  • US work authorization (visa sponsorship unavailable).

Nice to Have

  • Experience working directly with EHR databases.
  • Background in oncology or hematology.

Who Thrives Here

  • Scientists who like moving quickly from question to publication independently.
  • People comfortable navigating messy, real-world clinical data.

Time Commitment

This role is open to both full-time and part-time (15–25 hours/week) candidates, with part-time expected to transition to full-time.
