Facility Operations Administrator I (Anchorage, AK)

  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Anchorage, Alaska and will need to work in the office approximately 3 days a week

GCI's Facility Operations Administrator I will coordinate and support Facility Operations and Corporate Real Estate programs across GCI’s network sites, data centers, and corporate properties. Oversee service contract execution and scheduling, lease administration, documentation control, and compliance reporting to ensure facility performance meets operational, financial, and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS

  • Coordinate facility operations activities across network sites, data centers, and corporate properties to support reliable system performance.
  • Manage and coordinate vendor-performed maintenance including scheduling, tracking, and ensuring completion of work in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Administer facility service contracts and vendor agreements, including tracking terms, renewals, service levels (SLAs), and performance.
  • Support lease administration and property coordination activities, including tracking lease obligations, access requirements, and coordination with Legal (LPA), Finance, and internal stakeholders to support property and lease-related obligations across the portfolio.
  • Create, manage, and maintain work orders and maintenance records within the CMMS (ServiceNow or equivalent) to support accurate tracking, execution, and documentation of facility activities.
  • Maintain and support facility documentation and asset data, including the Master Equipment List (MEL), ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Support and produce compliance and regulatory reporting, including FCC backup power reporting and other required environmental or operational reporting.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Facility Operations, SMC/TAC, Engineering, Security, and Network Operations teams to support facility-related activities and operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain operational reporting to provide visibility into maintenance activity, vendor performance, contract compliance, and facility risk.
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance programs, contract management, documentation standards, and operational workflows.

Additional Job Requirements

This is an entry level position within the discipline demonstrating foundational knowledge and proficiency in areas of responsibility. Performs moderate tasks and job duties, receiving general instruction on routine work and more detailed instruction on new assignments. Works under close supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Supports higher level staff in implementing moderate to more complex projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Required: * A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Business, or relevant field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in facility operations, building administration, maintenance coordination, or similar operational roles. *

Preferred

  • Experience supporting vendor coordination, scheduling, and/or service delivery.
  • Exposure to work order systems or CMMS platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Familiarity with lease administration, contracts, or property operations.
  • Work experience in a telecom, utilities, facilities, or data center environment.
  • Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires access to reliable transportation for travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to participate in in-person site visits, facility walkthroughs, and field coordination activities to support maintenance, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Occasional travel required to support statewide facility operations, including coordination of site activities, inspections, and vendor oversight.
  • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
  • Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.
  • Physical agility and effort sufficient to perform job duties safely and effectively.
  • Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.
  • Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.
