Business Development Manager

Marca Architecture, Inc. (dba Marcatects) is a K-12 and private sector architectural firm based in Escondido, CA. We are a 20-person, close-knit team with a collaborative culture where everyone pitches in and takes ownership of their work. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated business development and marketing professional to help us elevate our firm’s visibility and expand our client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with potential clients, developers, contractors, and industry

contacts throughout Southern California

• Represent Marcatects at networking events, industry functions, and community engagements

• Travel locally and regionally as needed to attend client meetings, networking events, and industry

functions throughout Southern California

• Lead and coordinate proposals, statements of qualifications, and RFQ/RFP submittals

• Maintain CRM and contact database; track leads, prospects, and pipeline activity

• Manage and grow our social media presence across relevant platforms

• Drive a refresh of our website and overall brand identity to better reflect who we are and where we’re

headed

• Identify new market opportunities and help position Marcatects for growth in existing and adjacent

sectors

Qualifications

• Experience in business development and/or marketing within the AEC industry strongly preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage

confidently with clients, public agencies, and industry partners

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Architecture, Urban Planning,

or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• 3-8 years of experience in business development and marketing within the AEC industry

• Ability to prepare and coordinate RFQ/RFP responses, interview presentations, and represent

Marcatects during client interviews.

• Strong networking skills and an active presence in the San Diego professional community

• Experience using Microsoft Office, Teams, and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

• Familiarity with the proposal and pursuit process for public sector work

• Experience using social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook

Compensation

$75,000–$95,000 DOE. Open to discussing full-time, part-time, or consulting arrangements.
