This position is located in Norman, Oklahoma.

Annual Salary: $44,272.80 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education And Experience Requirements Consist Of a

  • a master’s degree;
  • or a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in professional social work;
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) year of experience in professional social work for each year of the bachelor’s degree;
  • or three (3) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews and respond to requests for information and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures surrounding social safety net programs; provide responses to inquiries concerning applications and reviews filing requirements, due dates, and similar information
  • Coordinates with other staff or units as needed to clarify policies and procedures determines the status of individual applications, reviews and resolves problems; routes requests to appropriate staff and units for processing; and scans and uploads customer verifications
  • Prepares and disseminates communications relating to social safety net programs including agency or program rules, policies, procedures, or requirements including basic program inquiries
  • Performs tasks such as gatekeeping assignment of work to staff and schedule for issuance and pick up of Electronic Benefit Transfer cards
  • Enters and retrieves information into the system; receives and reviews documents including customer verification; proofreads previously entered data and makes routine corrections
  • Reviews and processes claims from vendors, contractors, medical providers, and others for reimbursement or payment under various state programs
  • Manages a caseload and provides services for individuals and their families; coaches clients and arranges for needed treatment or other services
  • Assists customers in securing needed information and documents; conducts interviews to obtain information from clients; provides transportation or other assistance to clients as required and within established program rules and laws
  • Evaluate the needs of individuals and families in an office setting, via phone, video conference, and/or home visits to obtain information for processing and completing eligibility determinations within established rules and guidelines; and complete necessary case documentation
  • Participates in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of determining successful pathways for client success in reaching their individual goals and achieving self-sufficiency
  • Establish, engage, and grow positive and effective community partnerships with interested members of the public, service providers, and vendors in a supportive and teamwork-oriented professional manner; works effectively with partners to serve shared customers while maintaining confidentiality
