Part-Time HR Consultant

Location: Richmond, VA / Ashland, VA

Leath HR Group is growing and is seeking an experienced Part-Time HR Consultant to join our team supporting clients throughout the Greater Richmond region.

This role partners with our Senior HR Consultant & Market Leader to provide strategic and hands-on HR support to small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). Responsibilities include employee relations, HR compliance, workplace investigations, policy development, training and facilitation, recruiting support, HR projects, and fractional HR leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Labor and Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a closely related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership or strategic HR role
• Current SHRM-SCP or SPHR/PHR certification preferred (SHRM-SCP or SPHR strongly preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of federal and Virginia employment laws
• Experience supporting multiple organizations or business environments is a plus
• Excellent communication, consulting, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to travel to client sites throughout the Greater Richmond area
• Reliable transportation required
• Comfortable working independently with a combination of onsite and remote work
• Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office or similar tools, and comfort working in dynamic, growth-oriented environments
