CULTIVA Global Solutions is seeking Sheet Metal Mechanics to join our team in support of a contract at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, GA. This is a mixed position performing the duties of a sheet metal mechanic and aircraft mechanic. Candidates in this position will perform a variety of aircraft overhaul functions for assigned aircraft.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Develop patterns and lay out, cut, form, join, assemble, and install metal parts, items, and assemblies
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders to manufacture aircraft sheet metal structures with combined straight and curved edges and irregular angles, planes, and curves
- Evaluate structural damage to aircraft sheet metal systems and inspect structures to locate cracks, breaks, holes, bulges, dents, and loose or missing rivets
- Determine the type and extent of repairs required to restore original strength to components such as frames, stringers, bulkheads, spars, ribs, and stiffeners, and complete those repairs by fabricating and installing new parts and reinforcing, patching, or replacing defective parts
Requirements
Education
o High School Diploma or equivalent
o Airframe Certificate
Required Knowledge/Experience
o 1-3 years civilian or military aircraft sheet metal experience
o Prior experience planning and laying out work to manufacture aircraft sheet metal parts and components with combined straight and curved edges and irregular angles, planes, and curves
o Demonstrated experience with the hand and power tools of the trade, including hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, squaring shears, seamers, bar folders, brakes, and stakes, as well as complex machines such as slip roll forming machines, box and pan brakes, rotary machines with extra forming rolls, crimpers, beading machines, and soldering and welding equipment
o Knowledge of the characteristics and properties of metals used in the trade, including stainless steel, magnesium, and alloys, and of advanced shop mathematics including radial-line and parallel-line development to calculate and scribe patterns involving combined straight and curved edges or irregular curves, angles, and planes
o Knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation, and adjustment of major interrelated and integrated aircraft systems, subsystems, and assemblies,including fuel and hydraulic systems, flight control systems, instrumentation, engines, landing gear, airframe, and control surfaces
o Skill using precision measuring instruments such as protractors, calipers, snap ring gauges, height gauges, depth gauges, dial indicators, screw pitch gauges, and other hand measurement devices
o Ability to inspect aircraft sheet metal structures, determine the type and extent of repairs needed to restore original strength, and execute repairs to standard
