Commercial Litigation Paralegal

Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a position in our Commercial Litigation section. In this position, you will be providing litigation and trial support for the section’s complex commercial cases, including patent infringement cases. The work is stimulating, rewarding and fast-paced.

This is a non-exempt position, primarily on site. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 am-6:30 pm, with one hour for lunch. Flexibility to work weekends and overtime is needed, mostly during trial.

Key Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:

  1. Preparing and e-filing pleadings
  2. Confirming and tracking critical deadlines, including court-ordered dates
  3. Daily case maintenance
  4. Drafting routine pleadings.
  5. Factual and docket research
  6. Hearing and trial preparation and management
  7. Client and co-counsel contact
  8. Other projects as necessary

Position Requirements: The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters. This candidate should feel comfortable conducting research, doing data entry, scheduling, maintaining case files, and completing other ad-hoc requests, as needed.

  1. College degree required
  2. Previous paralegal and litigation experience
  3. E-filing experience in federal (Pacer) and state courts
  4. Excellent technology aptitude and skills
  5. Proficiency with MS Office Suite Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  6. Motivation to excel
  7. Superior attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Meet deadlines and multitask
  • Effectively self-manage in a fast-paced work environment
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge, training and good judgment to assignments and projects

9. Excellent oral & written communication skills

10. Schedule flexibility when required (usually for trials)

Strongly Preferred

1. Litigation Paralegal experience

2. Knowledge and understanding of the litigation process from start to finish

3. Experience supporting trial teams
