Riverdale Neighborhood House, Inc. (RNH) is of, by, and for its local community. Our mission is to strengthen

our community in the Northwest Bronx by delivering programs and ensuring access to resources that build

bonds, create networks, and promote equity across generational, cultural, racial, and economic lines. We

work with a vibrant, diverse community of over 50,000 residents who live in an area bordered by the

Hudson River, Van Cortlandt Park, Manhattan, and Yonkers. RNH provides a wide range of programming

anchored in regular needs assessments of our community. Today, RNH offers no-cost pre-school education

and free and low-cost after-school programs for children aged 2-13. Activities for high school students

include internships, college advising, leadership development, and recreation. Adults participate in

enrichment classes, community events, and volunteer programs. The volunteer-run Telephone Reassurance

Program supports homebound older adults. To address food insecurity (1 in 5 households locally), RNH

manages a mutual-aid fridge, an urban farm, and a farm stand.

General Job Description

Riverdale Neighborhood House is currently in search of an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Youth Internship

Program (YIP) Coordinator to support our Youth programs. Managed by the Post-Secondary Program

Manager, this individual will assist in various administrative duties, including data entry and research.

The YIP Coordinator will also play a vital role in formulating and organizing activities for teens

participating in RNH’s Youth Internship Program, including actively facilitating workshops/events for

program participants. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, organizational skills, and a genuine

commitment to fostering positive experiences for the youth in our community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with ensuring appropriate documentation of all Youth/Teen participants, complying with

all funder requirements.

  • Complete attendance data entry for the Youth Internship Program
  • Conduct planning and administration of YIP, including but not limited to, researching

social engagement activities, designing bulletin boards, and organizing program folders.

  • Coordinate and organize Youth Internship calendars with other programs activities
  • Support the promotion of youth/teen programs, including periodic outreach and recruitment
  • Maintain partnerships with outside organizations employing teens who are participating in YIP
  • Serve as a positive role model and always uphold professional behavior.
  • Build positive and constructive relationships with participants.
  • Help ensure all teens' safety on site and inform RNH staff of any concerns.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed, and directed by the Post-Secondary Program

Manager

Requirements/Qualifications: Successful Background check and State Central Registry clearances are required.

  • College degree or currently enrolled in college preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about positively impacting youth and teen lives in the community.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for efficient task completion.
  • Proficient in data entry and documentation, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
  • Capable of researching and contributing to the planning of engaging activities.

Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) Friday (12:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.)

Start Date: August 2026

Compensation and Benefits: This full-time, non-exempt position pays $50,000 depending on experience.

Employee benefits include medical, dental, life and disability insurance. RNH provides competitive

vacation, holiday and sick time, and also closes for a one-week period at the end of the calendar year.
