As a 2nd shift Custodian at Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and well cared for facilities that support employees, operations, and specialized work areas across RCI buildings. This position helps ensure that the work environment remains organized, functional, and ready to support the demands of an aerospace and defense manufacturing setting.

In this hands-on role, you will perform general cleaning, restroom care, floor and carpet maintenance, recycling, inventory support, and clean room cleaning in accordance with established procedures. You may also assist with special projects such as lamp replacement, window washing, and other facility support needs. This is a 2nd Shift position.  Hours:  3:30 PM to 12:00 AM (Midnight).  Candidates must be able to work 2nd shift hours.

What You Will Do

In this 2nd shift role, you will support the cleanliness, organization, and overall upkeep of RCI buildings in Cedar Rapids. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform general custodial cleaning to help maintain safe, clean, and professional facility spaces
  • Clean and maintain restrooms, common areas, floors, and carpets according to established standards
  • Support clean room areas by following required procedures and completing applicable training
  • Assist with special facility projects, including lamp replacement, window washing, recycling, and other assigned tasks
  • Maintain, track, and order custodial supplies and inventory for assigned buildings
  • Complete duties with limited supervision while following written and verbal instructions
  • May be required to lift/move heavy parts and/or equipment weighing up to 55 pounds

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
  • Must be able solve mathematical problems and follow written or oral instructions
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift
