Manager, Gift Shop (Full-Time, 40, Day)

RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees retail operations of The Queen’s Medical Center’s gift shops (Punchbowl and West) including on-line and remote services.
- Ensures effective operations while delivering outstanding service to customers and generating revenue for the hospital.
- Responsibilities include but not limited to: budgeting and revenue strategy, oversight of staffing, training, service strategy, inventory/product management, inventory and point of sale (POS) systems, reporting and compliance.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
- Continuous: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
- Frequent: standing, walking.
- Occasional: sitting, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing and pulling, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
- Operates computer, cash register, calculator, telephone, fax and printer.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, retail, marketing or related discipline or four (4) years in retail, buying and/or merchandising experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- In addition to educational requirement, minimum of three (3) years of managing retail operations including staff supervision and retail strategy. Proven experience in building revenue-generating retail operations with outstanding service and staff retention.
o Strong knowledge of retail technology and inventory management systems.
o Ability to manage and generate sales data and reporting.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
o Skill in retail planning, resource management, and marketing.
o Excellent customer service skills to interact effectively with peers, patients/families, visitors, hospital staff and vendors.
