THE ROLE
As an In-Room Dining Order Taker at Park Hyatt Chicago, you serve as the first point of contact for guests seeking an exceptional private dining experience. Through genuine hospitality, refined communication, and meticulous attention to detail, you curate memorable in-room dining moments by anticipating guest preferences, offering thoughtful menu recommendations, and ensuring every request is executed with precision.
This role partners closely with the In-Room Dining service team to coordinate seamless meal deliveries, personalized amenities, and special requests, ensuring each experience reflects the sophistication and personalized service synonymous with Park Hyatt. The Order Taker is also responsible for accurately processing guest transactions, including room charges, credit card, and cash payments, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver gracious, personalized service by professionally handling all in-room dining orders with warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail.
Anticipate guest needs and confidently recommend menu selections, enhancements, and special offerings to elevate the dining experience.
Coordinate seamlessly with In-Room Dining Servers and culinary teams to ensure timely, accurate, and flawless delivery of meals, amenities, and special requests.
Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, dietary accommodations, hotel offerings, and luxury service standards.
Create meaningful guest connections through thoughtful communication that reflects the elegance and sophistication of the Park Hyatt brand.
Uphold Forbes Travel Guide and Hyatt luxury service standards in every guest interaction.

WAGE INFORMATION: The hourly rate for this position is $26.50. This position is also eligible to earn overtime and premium pay under certain circumstances.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience within In-Room Dining or within a food service hospitality role, in a luxury or high-end restaurant environment.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, take orders accurately, and provide detailed menu recommendations.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure order accuracy, timely delivery, and high standards of presentation to enhance the guest experience.
- Customer Service: A demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional service with a focus on creating a welcoming, personalized dining experience for each guest.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently with the kitchen, bartenders, and servers to ensure smooth and seamless service.
- Professionalism: Consistently maintains a polished and professional appearance, reflecting the high standards of Park Hyatt Chicago and NoMI Kitchen.
Availability: Flexibility to work any shift including weekends and holidays as required to meet the needs of our guests and the business.
