Role Overview

The Workday Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining Workday solutions across key HR, payroll, benefits, and compensation functions. This role works closely with business users, HR teams, payroll, benefits, compensation, IT, and other stakeholders to understand system needs, support day-to-day operations, and assist with system enhancements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on Workday experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business needs into practical system updates, reports, configurations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Workday configuration across areas such as HCM, Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation.
  • Assist with business process configuration, system updates, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Gather and review business requirements from HR, payroll, benefits, compensation, and other teams.
  • Build, update, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Support Workday security updates, user access requests, and role-based permissions.
  • Assist with Workday integrations, data loads, and system interfaces as needed.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and partner with functional and technical teams to resolve them.
  • Support Workday releases, testing activities, system updates, and enhancement projects.
  • Maintain system documentation, process guides, configuration notes, and issue logs.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve system processes, data accuracy, reporting, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with Workday or a similar HRIS/HCM system.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Workday configuration, reporting, business processes, or security.
  • Understanding of HR, payroll, benefits, compensation, or employee data processes.
  • Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into system updates or enhancements.
  • Experience troubleshooting system issues and supporting end users.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business and technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, or related modules.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, calculated fields, security, integrations, EIBs, or data loads.
  • Experience supporting system testing, release management, upgrades, or enhancement projects.
  • Experience working in a mid-sized or large enterprise environment.
  • Workday training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on system experience.
