We're seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Human Resources leader to join our leadership team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a financially strong, locally owned community bank with approximately 100 employees. You'll have the autonomy to build programs, influence culture, develop leaders, and help create an exceptional employee experience while supporting our mission of serving our customers and communities.

What You'll Do
As our HR Director, you will provide strategic leadership while overseeing the day-to-day functions of Human Resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and managers.
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, and talent acquisition efforts.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Coach managers through employee relations and performance management.
- Collaborate with Executive Management on compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs
- Ensure compliance with federal and Indiana employment laws and banking regulations.
- Provide assistance with performance one to one’s and talent development processes.
- Develop leadership training and employee development programs.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Oversee HRIS and partner with payroll department
- Lead wellness, recognition, and culture initiatives.
- Manage leave administration, ADA, FMLA, workers' compensation, and unemployment.
- SAFE Act administrator
- Foster a workplace built on trust, accountability, collaboration, and exceptional service.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience with leadership responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Experience advising senior leaders on organizational and people strategies.
- Excellent coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong employee benefits experience
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Ellettsville, IN, and occasionally travel to other branches as needed.
- Community banking or financial services experience is a plus.
