Visiting Assistant Professor of Education
The School of Education at the University of New Orleans invites applications for a 1- year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Teacher Education with an expertise in math and/or science methods. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of K12 teaching, a preference for collaborative work, a strong commitment to novice teacher development, and an established or emerging research agenda in an area of teacher education.
This position is responsible for 12 academic units per semester (4/4).
Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in teacher education. Other responsibilities include supervision of Resident Teachers in their school placements, curriculum and institutional effectiveness management (with the Program Coordinator), recruitment, community outreach, inclusion on program, school, college and/or university committees, and other support of the administrative functions of the unit.

Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Teacher Education or a related field.
Evidence of successful K12 teaching experience in math or science.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of teaching excellence at the University level.
Demonstrable expertise in teaching students from diverse backgrounds and with diverse academic and developmental needs.
