ROLE SUMMARY: The 97 West Host is the first point of contact for guests and plays a vital role in setting the tone for a Legendary dining experience. This position is responsible for warmly greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and seating flow, and ensuring that service standards reflect the spirit of Hotel Drover and the Fort Worth Stockyards. With an eye for detail and a passion for hospitality, the 97 West Host ensures every guest feels welcomed and cared for from the moment they arrive.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and the genuine Hotel Drover spirit of hospitality; proactively acknowledge guest needs and assist by opening doors or offering support.

  • Manage reservations, accurately record guest information, and ensure fair and efficient seating of guests.

  • Guide guests to tables, provide menus, and ensure place settings are clean, complete, and guest-ready.

  • Assist with bussing, resetting tables, refilling beverages, and maintaining podium and host stand cleanliness as needed.

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing accurate information about the restaurant and hotel.

  • Check menus for cleanliness and accuracy, maintain seating charts, and assist with group seating arrangements.

  • Support restaurant team members to ensure smooth operations and Legendary guest service.

  • Follow all company policies, safety and sanitation standards, and security procedures.

  • Partner with the Large Party Coordinator to coordinate group reservations, confirm event details, and execute Restaurant Event Ordeer with precision and hospitality.

  • Maintain guest confidentiality at all times by handling personal information, reservations, and conversations with discretion and professionalism.

  • Remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment, effectively handling guest concerns and maintaining a positive, professional demeanor.

  • Act as an ambassador of Hotel Drover’s brand, values, and culture in all guest and team interactions.

  • All other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 25 lbs regularly.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interaction.

  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and business demands.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with guests and team members.

  • Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle guest concerns diplomatically.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous host/hostess experience in a full-service restaurant or luxury hospitality environment.

  • Familiarity with reservation management systems (OpenTable experience preferred)

  • Detail-oriented with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

  • Strong knowledge of the City of Fort Worth and other parts of the DFW metropolitan area.
