MacKay is seeking a Survey Technician to join our survey team in Roseville, California. This office and field-based position assists Professional Land Surveyors in the preparation of supporting data for land survey projects and focuses on producing accurate, high-quality drawings and deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will have an opportunity to work closely with our multi-disciplined team of Professional Land Surveyors, Engineers, and Land Use Planners on land development projects that shape communities and support our clients’ vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply survey information and reduce field notes to layout and draft designs and drawings for projects.
  • Perform base mapping, overlay preparation, and work on storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street design projects, including review site plans, layouts and publication mockups.
  • Review and conduct field check data for compliance with jurisdictional codes, to ensure survey standards are met.
  • Work with close supervision to complete a variety of office or field work as assigned such as preparing data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents related to surveys.
  • Provide support to other departments, such as preparing computer-generated maps and exhibits.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate survey and engineering records in support of licensed staff.
  • Develop knowledge of federal, state, and local rules, laws, and regulations regarding survey.
  • Occasional field work, including out of town travel.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in both field and office land surveying preferred.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D required.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center preferred.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual with strong attention to detail.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.

US Pay Range: $30 USD - $60 USD

Full-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match. Additionally, employees receive paid vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, and are able to participate in employee ownership options. MacKay pays for expenses associated with licensure as well as annual performance bonuses.
