Payroll Specialist
Bettis Construction
Bettis Construction is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support our growing workforce. In this role, you'll ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining payroll records, assisting with reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and project teams to help keep our payroll process efficient and compliant.
What You'll Do
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Review employee time records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll records, employee deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information.
- Verify new hire, termination, and compensation changes before payroll processing.
- Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting.
- Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end reporting.
- Respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner.
- Support month-end reconciliations and other accounting tasks as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
- Recommend process improvements that increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Previous payroll, accounting, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Construction industry payroll experience is a plus but not required.
