About the Role

As a Tax Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role—mentoring team members, strengthening client relationships, and guiding strategic tax planning. Your expertise will directly impact client success, and your voice, ideas, and career goals will always be valued.

Must be located in... WI, IL, MN, MI, or IA. This is a customer facing position; the expectation will be to travel to the home office once a month or very least quarterly to meet with the team and clients. (If you are located in the surrounding Milwaukee area, this position will be hybrid.)

Responsibilities

- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff

- Review staff-prepared tax returns for accuracy and compliance

- Prepare, review, and sign a variety of tax returns, including:

- Partnerships, S‑Corporations, and C‑Corporations (including multi‑state filings)

- Individual and Trust tax returns

- Manage client billing and support invoice processes

- Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor

- Conduct tax research, projections, and correspondence with tax authorities

- Lead business development initiatives and community engagement

- Manage projects and client portfolios at a strategic level

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- Strong understanding of Basic Accounting Principles

- Active CPA license required

- Ability to manage seasonal workloads

- Willingness to travel as needed for client engagements and professional growth

- Experience with ProSystem fx Tax and Fixed Assets software (preferred)

Pay range and compensation package

- Pay range commensurate with level of experience
