Development and Outreach Coordinator
Full-time in Alpharetta, GA (with events around the metro-Atlanta area)
About the Role: Reporting to the Director of Development and Marketing, the Development and Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Atlanta Angels by supporting fundraising initiatives, cultivating meaningful community relationships, and helping grow the organization's network of supporters. This position works closely with the Development team to execute fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment efforts, steward donors, identify new funding opportunities, and coordinate development events that inspire community engagement and philanthropy.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, driven, relationship-oriented professional who enjoys connecting with people, managing details, and contributing to a mission that strengthens the foster care community.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospect Research
- Responsible for increasing and maintaining community presence and awareness by attending networking events, community events, conferences, tabling, engaging in speaking events on behalf of the organization, and more.
- Research and identify prospective individual, corporate, and foundation supporters and volunteers.
- Support outreach efforts by preparing meeting materials, prospect profiles, and follow-up communications.
- Refer and connect prospects with appropriate team members.
Fundraising Support and Donor Stewardship
- Assist in planning and executing annual fundraising campaigns, appeals, and giving initiatives.
- Support donor solicitation efforts through research, outreach preparation, and follow-up.
- Track fundraising progress and maintain accurate records within the donor database (Neon One).
- Update monthly donor outreach.
- Ensure all first time gifts are acknowledged within 48 hours of receipt.
- Help develop meaningful donor experiences that strengthen long-term engagement and retention.
- Schedule and communicate donor and partner touchpoints/meetings with development leads.
- Assist in preparing donor reports, impact updates, and stewardship materials.
Event Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, networking receptions, and donor engagement opportunities.
- Coordinate event logistics, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer support, and guest communications.
- Help ensure a welcoming and mission-centered experience for attendees and partners.
Administrative & Development Operations
- Maintain accurate donor records and stewardship notes and activities.
- Prepare reports, mailing lists, and development materials as needed.
- Support grant and sponsorship tracking, meeting scheduling, and other administrative functions that strengthen development operations.
- Maintain and organize prospect pipelines and development tracking systems.
Requirements & Qualifications

- Organizational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent the organization professionally to donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Google Workspace, basic CRM platforms (Neon One preferred), Slack, and Canva.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience in fundraising, sales, customer relationship management, event planning, or nonprofit development will also be considered.
- 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, account management, sales, or event coordination preferred.
Work Context
- Position is full-time/exempt, hybrid/flexible work environment.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- This role requires a high level of collaboration and relational work, including in-person meetings with donors and partners.
- Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
