ROLE DESCRIPTION

New Catalyst is seeking a Capital Formation & Investor Relations Associate to support the firm's fundraising, investor relations, and business development activities. Working closely with the Head of Investor Relations, this individual will help coordinate investor engagement efforts, maintain fundraising infrastructure, support diligence processes, and contribute to the continued development of the firm's capital formation function.

This role is designed for a high-performing professional with 2-4 years of experience who is interested in building a long-term career in investor relations and private markets. The position offers meaningful exposure to fundraising, investor communications, consultant relationships, and capital formation strategy while providing hands-on experience supporting institutional investors and prospective investors.

New Catalyst is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Strong preference will be given to candidates located in the Washington, D.C. area with the expectation of a hybrid in-office schedule.

This is an opportunity to join a growing private markets platform and work directly alongside firm leadership in building a scalable institutional capital formation function.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials.

• 2-4 years of experience in investor relations, capital formation, placement agency, private markets, asset management, investment banking, consulting, business development, or related financial services roles. Examples may include Placement Agent Analyst or Associate, Private Equity Investor Relations Analyst or Associate, Asset Management Client Service Associate, Investment Consultant Analyst, Investment Banking Analyst, or Fundraising/Business Development Analyst within an alternative asset manager.

• Exposure to private markets, alternative investments, fundraising, or institutional investors strongly preferred.

• Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM capabilities (Affinity experience preferred).

• Exceptional organizational, project management, and communication skills.

• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Demonstrated curiosity, professionalism, coachability, and sound judgment.

Over time, this individual will develop the skills, knowledge, and investor-facing experience necessary to assume increasing responsibility within the Investor Relations function and become a meaningful contributor to the firm's long-term growth.
