Assembly Technician – Aerospace Manufacturing

Highly sought after opportunity with Aerospace manufacturer who is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Assembly Technicians to support the assembly, maintenance, testing, and repair of jet engine components and systems. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing assembly and/or automotive manufacturing assembly environments, where precision, quality, safety, and adherence to technical specifications are critical.

The successful candidates will work closely with engineers, quality teams, and fellow technicians to ensure products meet the highest industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and repair jet engine components and systems according to specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on aerospace engine equipment.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, or assembly-related issues.
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and repair.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly and testing processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, quality standards, and industry requirements.
  • Operate, maintain, and properly utilize specialized tools, equipment, and testing devices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Aerospace Technology, Aviation Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field OR
  • Minimum 3+ years of automotive manufacturing assembly experience in a production environment that demonstrates mechanical aptitude, precision assembly skills, and adherence to quality standards.

Required Experience

  • Must have hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing assembly and/or automotive manufacturing assembly.
  • Experience assembling mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical components in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work from blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and safety requirements.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous aerospace, aviation, defense, turbine engine, propulsion systems, or similar manufacturing experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
  • FAA, aerospace, or defense industry experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Capability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility environment where noise levels may require hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work may involve exposure to machinery, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Adherence to all safety procedures and PPE requirements is mandatory.
