Job Title: Consultant – HR Client Relations
Location: Detroit, MI (hybrid)
Job Duration: 2-year Contract
Primary Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of professional HR experience.
- Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws and labor relations regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Strong ability to influence, guide, and coach stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Customer-focused, results-driven approach to building and maintaining relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various audiences
- Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships at all organizational levels
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strategic and systems-thinking mindset with sound decision-making capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Assess the human resources implications of business unit strategies, goals, and operational needs, and communicate insights effectively to leadership.
- Partner with business leaders, HR Client Relations teams, and subject matter experts to develop and execute HR solutions aligned with business objectives.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies, labor agreements, and ethical standards.

- Develop deep knowledge of assigned business unit operations, goals, and economic drivers.
- Provide guidance and coaching to leaders and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support leaders in managing employee relations issues and organizational challenges.
- Collaborate with senior HR team members to ensure alignment with company policies and effective decision-making
SUMMARY
- The Consultant – HR Client Relations serves as a key liaison between the Human Resources department and assigned business units.
- This role collaborates closely with business leaders and HR teams to support the achievement of strategic objectives by delivering comprehensive HR services.
- The position typically supports smaller or less complex business units and partners with senior HR professionals as needed
