We’re a high-save organization helping nearly 34,000 animals in our community each year and caring for approximately 10,000 across both of our campuses. through sheltering, adoptions and community-centered programs and services that help find pets loving homes and keep them there. We are seeking a Program Marketing Coordinator to join our team at our Reno Campus. In this role, you’ll provide daily care, support positive outcomes, and help match pets with the families who will love them for life.

Base pay range is calculated by position title, and experience. It is determined within the departmental budget. Changes to the range are approved by the CEO.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Our Program Marketing Coordinator plays an important role in advancing Nevada Humane Society’s mission.
As a Program Marketing Coordinator, you contribute to Nevada Humane Society’s (NHS) mission by telling the stories that bring our lifesaving work to life—highlighting the impact of our programs, services, donors, and community partnerships. Your work supports public understanding of how NHS is funded, the breadth of services we offer, and the lives we touch every day. Through warmth, positivity, and compassion using photography, writing, design, social media, and outreach, you reflect our commitment to care for pets, find them homes, and save lives.
Position-Specific Responsibilities
- Storytelling & Content Development: Source, write, and design compelling program- and service-focused content that tells the story of NHS’s impact and inspires community support.
- Photography/Videography: Capture and edit high-quality images and videos that showcase programs, services, and community outreach; ensure assets are formatted for multiple channels.
- Digital, Web & Email: Maintain accurate and engaging program/service pages on the NHS website; create email campaigns to highlight program outcomes, events, and fundraising opportunities. Maintain accurate & appealing in-shelter displays.
- Social Media & Engagement: Post regular program updates on NHS social channels, manage a program-focused content calendar in collaboration with the Marketing Director, and engage with followers to promote events and initiatives.
- Paid Ads (Basic): Execute targeted, small-scale paid promotions (e.g., boosted posts for events, service campaigns) to increase awareness and participation.
- Media & Community Engagement: Support program and service coverage in media appearances, community events, and outreach efforts.
- Event & Campaign Support: Collaborate on fundraising events, program launches, and awareness campaigns; produce and distribute supporting materials.
- Analytics & Reporting: Monitor program content performance (engagement, participation, donations), share insights with the Marketing Director, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with other departments and campuses to gather stories, coordinate schedules, and align messaging.
- Animal Handling for Marketing: Safely and confidently handle animals of various sizes and species—for promotional purposes.

Experience and Qualification Requirements
Position-Specific Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with Canva or other design software.
- Strong writing and editing skills for short-form content (e.g., social media captions, basic web updates).
- Ability to follow brand guidelines and maintain consistency across channels.
- Comfort and competence in handling animals of different species and sizes for marketing purposes.
- Basic photography skills and willingness to learn videography.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
General Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Staying updated on community developments, particularly in animal welfare.
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written, and observational skills.
- Self-starter with a goal-oriented mindset, willing to exceed prescribed work and time schedules to meet deadlines.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License with valid registration and insurance for personal vehicles, essential for positions requiring driving.
- Demonstrated commitment to the welfare of animals and alignment with the mission of the Nevada Humane Society.
- Consistently treat animals with compassion and respect, both professionally and personally, and promote these values to others.
- Strict adherence to all local regulations concerning the ownership and care of personal animals.
- Comprehensive understanding of pet behavior and care, with the capability to handle various animals safely and responsibly.
- Maintaining a consistently positive and professional demeanor is essential.
- A sincere interest in the Nevada Humane Society’s mission and vision.
Position-Specific Desired Experience
- Experience in nonprofit or animal-welfare marketing.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and basic video editing.
- Demonstrated success in storytelling for web, email, and social media.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics 4, UTM tagging, and reporting.
- Experience managing content in a CMS and building email campaigns.
- Knowledge of SEO and keyword research for content optimization.
- Experience running basic paid ad campaigns (Meta boosts, targeted Google Ads).
- Experience photographing or filming animals and events in varied environments.
General Desired Experience
- Experience in same or related position in a nonprofit setting-preferably animal welfare.
- Record of continually increasing responsibilities with measurable results.
