Full Service Hotel Assistant General Manager

Position Overview

We're seeking a driven Assistant General Manager to help lead a full service hotel where guest experience and operational excellence go hand in hand. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll oversee daily operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Restaurants, Bars, Banquets and Events, and Loss Prevention. This is a role for a seasoned hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants a clear path toward General Manager and beyond. A strong Food and Beverage background is essential, as our dining, bar, and events operations sit at the heart of what we do.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office

  • Oversee front desk, guest services, and reservations to ensure smooth arrivals, departures, and a consistently warm guest experience.
  • Monitor occupancy, rate strategy, and service standards in partnership with revenue and sales teams.
  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and turn feedback into lasting improvements.

Housekeeping

  • Lead housekeeping operations to maintain spotless rooms and public spaces that reflect the property's brand standards.
  • Manage inventory, scheduling, and quality inspections to keep both efficiency and quality high.
  • Partner with maintenance to keep the property in top condition.

Restaurants and Bars

  • Direct daily restaurant and bar operations, driving both service quality and profitability.
  • Guide menu execution, beverage programs, and cost controls alongside culinary and F&B leadership.
  • Coach front-of-house teams to deliver memorable dining and bar experiences that keep guests coming back.

Banquets and Events

  • Oversee the planning and execution of banquets, meetings, and special events from setup through service.
  • Work closely with sales and catering to exceed client expectations and grow event revenue.
  • Ensure every event runs on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

Loss Prevention

  • Lead loss prevention efforts to protect guests, team members, assets, and revenue.
  • Maintain safety, security, and compliance protocols across all departments.
  • Manage crisis response procedures and train teams to act with confidence.

Leadership and Operations

  • Support the General Manager in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Mentor department heads and their teams, building a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Analyze performance metrics and drive initiatives that improve service, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Step in for the General Manager as needed, taking full ownership of the property.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years in hotel management or a comparable leadership role.
  • Strong Food and Beverage background, with hands-on experience leading restaurants, bars, or banquet operations.
  • Proven track record improving guest satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing multiple departments in a full-service or resort setting.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention, safety, and compliance practices.
  • A history of developing team members into their next leadership roles.
