Project Architect / Architectural Designer
AIA Colorado
We're looking for an architect who wants to own their projects.
Hampton Architecture is a boutique architecture firm based in Boulder, Colorado. We design commercial tenant improvements, workplace environments, life science facilities, existing building renovations, and custom residential projects throughout the United States.
This position is for someone who wants the responsibility—and the satisfaction—of leading projects, solving problems, building trusted client relationships, and producing architecture they are proud to put their name on.
We are looking for someone seeking a long-term professional home where they can build trusted client relationships, produce exceptional work, and grow alongside a small, respected firm.
We hire experienced professionals because we trust their judgment—not because we want to micromanage their work.
If your experience is valued, your opinion matters, and you enjoy taking responsibility for your work, we'd like to meet you.
What You'll Do
You'll lead projects from early design through construction administration, working directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and jurisdictions.
Our team is intentionally small because we believe talented architects thrive when they're trusted with meaningful responsibility rather than narrowly defined roles.
You'll work across a diverse portfolio that includes commercial interiors, tenant improvements, existing building renovations, life science projects, and custom residential architecture. No two weeks look exactly the same.
We're looking for someone who can step into our office, learn how we work, and immediately begin contributing their own knowledge and experience.

What We Offer
Architecture is ultimately a people business. We believe talented professionals do their best work when they're trusted, given meaningful responsibility, and supported by a team that genuinely enjoys working together.
You'll have the opportunity to lead projects, build lasting client relationships, and make meaningful contributions to the direction of our firm—not simply complete assignments.
We support flexible schedules when project commitments allow because we believe great work is measured by results, professionalism, and accountability—not by sitting at a desk for a prescribed number of hours.
Many of our clients have worked with us for years. We believe long-term relationships are built by being responsive, producing thoughtful work, and following through on our commitments. We're looking for someone who shares those values.
We aren't trying to become the biggest architecture firm. We're building one of the most respected. We're building a firm known for thoughtful design, lasting client relationships, and a team of professionals who genuinely enjoy working together.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe compensation should reflect experience, contribution, and accountability. This is a full-time hourly position with compensation commensurate with experience. Typical annual earnings for a full-time team member in this role are approximately $95,000–115,000, plus performance-based bonuses and benefits.
We believe professionals should be fairly compensated for the time and effort they invest while also enjoying the flexibility and trust that come with working in a small firm.
