Location: Battle Creek, Michigan

Position Type: Full Time

The Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Office & Accounting Specialist to join our team. This key position plays a vital role in supporting the Chamber's financial operations, office administration, and member services while helping us fulfill our mission of Connecting Business. Fostering Community. Igniting Growth .

We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, values accuracy, and can work both collaboratively and independently.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

· Process payroll accurately and timely with

· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

· Prepare and distribute invoices and member billing statements

· Reconcile bank accounts and financial records

· Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting

· Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation

· Support budgeting and financial tracking processes

Office Operations

· Oversee daily office operational needs

· Maintain office systems, files, and records

· Coordinate vendor relationships and office supplies

· Ensure efficient and professional office operations

· Scheduling and coordinating all activities

Membership Services

· Serve as a welcoming point of contact for Chamber members and visitors

· Assist with membership onboarding, renewals, and database management

· Support member communications and customer service inquiries

· Provide administrative support for Chamber programs and events

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

· Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, or office management

· Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills

· Strong problem-solving abilities

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Customer-service mindset with a positive, professional attitude

· Ability to work independently while contributing as a team member

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

· Experience with nonprofit accounting or membership organizations

· Experience with database management and CRM systems
