SCOPE OF WORK

Work will consist of assisting Warehouse Manager in managing materials, tools and equipment associated with the electrical construction industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Loads and unloads materials, tools and/or equipment by hand or using forklift. Delivers materials, tools and/or equipment to jobsites or other locations as needed. Fills material orders for Supervisors and Project Managers from warehouse stock. Assists in signing-out and signing-in tools. Maintains the warehouse, stock material, trailers and warehouse yard. Keeps warehouse vehicles serviced, clean and ready to drive. Keeps warehouse tools clean and in working order. Engraves and paints all new tools for identification. Operates company vehicles and equipment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

LICENSES: Valid Driver’s License required and Current Forklift operator’s license preferred.

EDUCATION: High school graduate, holder of GED or equivalent training.

EXPERIENCE: Has two years of previous warehouse experience, electrical warehouse preferred. Must have knowledge of electrical equipment, materials and components.

TESTING: Drug testing is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS – ALL ELEMENTS INSIDE AND OUT:

  • Job requires working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow), depending on job location and time of year.
  • Job requires employee to operate company vehicles and equipment such as forklifts.
  • Carry and relocate all types of ladders up to 12’ stepladder by one’s self.
  • Wear protective-toe boots at all times. Wear other personal protective equipment hard hat, safety glasses, vest, respirator and other equipment when required. at all times, respirator and other equipment when required.
  • Able to work eight hours per day, forty hours per week, overtime and/or night shift, as required.

SKILLS

  • Positively identify colors of wire.
  • Must be able to operate power tools to determine their correct functionality.
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, and lift trucks.
  • Practice and comprehend safe work procedures as outlined in company safety policy handbook and haz-com policy.
  • Operate two-handed tools/equipment.
  • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.

PHYSICAL FUNCTION

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Lift 51 pounds.
  • Constantly moving your feet.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Completing overhead work for full day assignments.
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected) and possess good hearing (normal or corrected).
  • Communicate clearly orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street with tools and equipment needed into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.
