Job Title: Brand Social Media & Content Coordinator

Department and Location: Admin - Marketing, Grand Rapids

Position Vision: The Brand Social & Content Coordinator is the voice and visual presence of Gazelle Sports across organic social media and community storytelling. This is a creative, community-facing role for someone who loves capturing the Gazelle Sports landscape- at our stores, at events, on group runs- and turning those moments into content that feels real. This person owns day-to-day content capture, copy, and organic social publishing, and builds the influencer and community relationships that extend our brand reach beyond paid channels.

Position Expectations

Social Media and Content

  • Develop and execute the organic social media strategy for Gazelle Sports across Instagram, Facebook, and emerging platforms in alignment with thematic content and goals
  • Develop and execute the content calendar for organic social, coordinating timing with the broader marketing calendar
  • Write copy for all organic social posts, adhering to the Gazelle Sports brand voice with authenticity and consistency
  • Capture day-to-day photo and video content at store locations, events, group runs, and community activations
  • Edit and produce short-form video content (Reels, Stories, etc.) for social platforms
  • Monitor and regularly report social performance metrics and share regular insights with the team
  • Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and relevant cultural moments in the running and active lifestyle space

Community Newsletter

  • Coordinate, create and deploy the store market community-facing monthly newsletter
  • Develop story angles that reflect Gazelle Sports’ community roots: local runners, events, store team members, brand partners, and brand differentiating products
  • Maintain a consistent publishing cadence aligned to the marketing calendar

Influencer and Community Relationships

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with a diversity of local influencers, run club leaders, and community ambassadors
  • Coordinate product seeding, event invitations, and co-created content within approved budget guidelines
  • Track influencer content performance and report on relationship ROI
  • Represent Gazelle Sports authentically in the local running and wellness community

Store and Event Support

  • Serve as the marketing liaison between store teams and the marketing department- capturing store stories, staff moments, and local content
  • Provide on-site content capture at Gazelle Sports signature events (She Runs GR, etc.)
  • Support event marketing through social promotion before, during, and after each event
  • Travel to all Gazelle Sports retail locations for content capture on a regular cadence

Position Requirements

  • Strong writing skills with an ability to tailor messaging to a target audience, while maintaining brand voice and tone
  • Proficient in social media publishing and scheduling tools, i.e. Meta Business
  • Comfortable behind a camera- capturing photo and video content in real environments, not just studio settings
  • Basic photo and video editing skills (Adobe suite, Canva, CapCut, or equivalent)
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage a publishing calendar across multiple channels
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across store teams, vendors, and community partners
  • Willingness to engage in and support Gazelle Sports company-wide initiatives

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing organic social for a retail, lifestyle, or community-driven brand
  • Deep personal connection to the running community and/or active lifestyle
  • Experience with influencer or ambassador program coordination
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools
  • Experience in specialty retail or local brand marketing

Other Requirements

  • Regular travel to all Gazelle Sports store locations required
  • Some evenings and weekends required (events, group runs, activations)
  • Workspace share between the Grand Rapids Distribution Center and the Grand Rapids 28th St retail store
