Sr. Project Manager, Public Works

The California Construction Authority (CCA) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Independent Consultant) to lead the delivery of a major public works capital improvement project at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico, California.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction professional with extensive public sector experience to oversee a complex project from planning and design through construction and closeout.

Project Highlights

Full-time onsite consulting engagement (1099)

Approximately 12–18 months (through project completion)

Public works capital project valued up to $30M+

Compensation: Negotiated hourly rate or not-to-exceed contract amount, commensurate with experience

Monthly compensation range: $13,840 – $19,003

We're looking for professionals with experience in

• Public works construction management

• Contract administration and procurement

• Budget, schedule, and risk management

• California public contracting requirements

• Prevailing wage and DIR compliance

• Managing architects, engineers, contractors, inspectors, and multiple stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

• 7–10 years of progressively responsible construction project management experience

• At least 5 years managing public works projects exceeding $10 million

• Experience delivering complex capital projects up to $30 million or more is highly desirable

• OSHA 10 Certification (OSHA 30 preferred)

• Valid California Driver License

• Candidate should reside in or near the greater Chico area

Preferred certifications include PMP, CCM, DBIA, PE, LEED, or Certified Public Works Professional.
