Land Entitlements Associate

Steward Land Company

Location: Ogden Utah (On-site, with occasional travel in the Mountain West)

Who We Are

Steward Land Company is a fast-moving land development firm focused on residential subdivisions and master-planned communities across the Mountain West. We are lean, sharp, and built to move. No bureaucracy. No committees. No slow decisions.

We're looking for someone sharp, organized, and hungry to learn who wants to get inside the real work of land development and help projects move from acquisition through entitlement and toward construction.

The Role

You will support the entitlement function across multiple active land development projects. You'll help keep due diligence, applications, fees, hearings, and approval tracking organized, accurate, and moving so projects do not stall because of avoidable mistakes or poor follow-through.

What You'll Do

· Gather zoning, platting, utility, and regulatory information for active projects.

· Help prepare, assemble, and submit entitlement and permit applications.

· Track application status, agency comments, approval conditions, deadlines, and next steps.

· Help calculate impact and connection fees and coordinate payment with accounting.

· Organize reports, studies, exhibits, and project files so information is easy to find and follow.

· Coordinate meetings, inspections, hearings, and other entitlement-related logistics.

· Support planning commission and council packets, resubmittals, and routine agency communication.

· Research local codes, ordinances, and approval requirements as needed.

What We're Looking For

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.

· Able to manage multiple deadlines and moving pieces without getting sloppy.

· Fast learner with strong judgment and follow-through.

· Clear, professional communicator.

· Comfortable working full-time in the office.

· High integrity and strong ownership mindset.

· Relevant degree, internship, or experience in development, construction, planning, permitting, real estate, or a similar environment is a plus – PREFERRED NOT REQUIRED.

This Role Is Not For You If

You need constant hand-holding, struggle to manage details across multiple projects, dislike administrative precision, or want remote flexibility more than you want to be close to the real work.

Compensation

Starting salary is $60k - $80k with the opportunity for $10-$15k in bonsus (higher compensation plans are available for more qualified or experienced candidates).

Growth

There is a real path from this seat into more responsibility over time, including opportunities to grow into Entitlement Coordinator or Entitlement Manager roles.

To Apply

Skip the cover letter. Send us a short note, three paragraphs at most, that answers one question: tell us about a time you had to keep a complicated project, process, or set of deadlines organized when there were a lot of moving pieces. What was at stake, how did you stay on top of it, and what was the result?

Include your resume. We move fast and we expect the same.
