Role Description
The Refrigeration Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Southern California. This role involves performing routine and preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, as well as diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues. The technician will respond to service calls, complete field inspections, and document work performed in service reports. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting system performance, replacing components, calibrating controls, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role also requires regular interaction with customers to explain service needs, provide recommendations, and uphold company standards for quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair and Maintenance skills for refrigeration and mechanical systems.
- Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control issues in refrigeration equipment.
- Candidates should possess Field Service experience, including on-site equipment evaluations, repairs, and system start-ups.
- Candidates should possess effective Customer Service skills to communicate clearly with clients, explain work performed, and provide professional recommendations.
- Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC/R or mechanical systems (e.g., EPA 608, trade school, or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and service manuals.
- Experience with commercial or industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia or glycol systems.
- Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work safely with tools and equipment.
- CIRO certification is preferred.
