Corporate Travel Consultant
Global Escapes, Inc.
Wanted: A People-Person Who Gets Things DONE
Do your friends call you "the planner"? Are you the one who books the group trip, tracks the flight deals, remembers everyone's TSA PreCheck numbers, and follows up until every last detail is confirmed?
We'd like to meet you.
Corporate Connections, the corporate travel division of Global Escapes, is hiring a Corporate Travel Consultant. You'll work side-by-side with a senior consultant, learning the craft of corporate travel management from the inside — and building toward a client base of your very own.
No travel industry experience required but it is helpful. We can teach you the systems, the airline rules, and the industry lingo. What we can't teach is hustle, warmth, and follow-through. That part's on you.
Who We Are
Global Escapes has been helping people see the world from our home base in Athens, GA for over 30 years. We're a full-service travel concierge — leisure travel, meeting planning, incentives, group tours — and Corporate Connections is our growing corporate travel arm.
A few things we're proud of:
- Members of Signature Travel Network and Connoisseur Travel, giving our clients the buying power of $2+ billion in annual sales and access to the world's most elite travel partners
- 3x Magellan Award winners over the past 6 years
- Members of TAMS, the travel industry's premier benchmarking group
- A team that genuinely loves what we do (and where we do it — go Dawgs )
Who You Are
We're not hiring a resume. We're hiring a person. Here's the person we're picturing:
- You're a natural supporter and finisher. You get real satisfaction from helping someone else succeed — anticipating what they need before they ask — and you don't consider a task done until it's done done. (If you've taken the Working Genius assessment and Enablement or Tenacity is in your top two, we really want to hear from you. If you haven't taken it, no worries — you'll know if this describes you.)
- You're organized under pressure. Multiple clients, multiple time zones, one canceled flight, zero panic.
- You're a people magnet. You make authentic connections fast, you read personalities well, and your written and verbal communication is warm and polished.
- You sweat the details. Trip research, cost comparisons, proofing documents — you catch the thing everyone else missed.
- You're curious and coachable. New booking systems, new destinations, new airline rules — you actually like learning.
- You love travel. You read about it, you dream about it, and ideally, you do it. Bonus points if you keep notes.
What You'll Do
- Support a senior consultant with all aspects of travel arrangements — air, hotel, car, rail — using computer reservation systems
- Deliver prompt, professional, downright delightful client communication by phone and email
- Research destinations, industry trends, and travel advisories, and translate them into clear guidance for clients
- Solve problems before clients even know they exist
- Keep meticulous client records and files (documentation is your love language)
- Handle the essential behind-the-scenes work: invoicing, visa/passport processing, proofing vendor documents, client correspondence
- Represent the agency at local events, travel conferences, and shows
- Grow. Seriously — this role is a launchpad to building your own client base.
Don't Check Every Box?
Apply anyway. Research shows great candidates often talk themselves out of applying because they don't meet 100% of the criteria. If you've got the personality, the work ethic, and the willingness to learn, we want to see your application. We hire people, then train skills — not the other way around.
How to Apply
Send us two things:
- Your resume (PDF, please)
- A short video "cover letter" — 1 to 2 minutes, phone-quality is totally fine. Tell us who you are, why this role caught your eye, and the best trip you've ever taken (or the one you're dying to take). No production value needed. We just want to meet you before we meet your paperwork.
Email both to ***email_hidden*** (attach your resume as a PDF; for the video, attach it or send us a link — Loom, YouTube unlisted, Google Drive, whatever works).
DO NOT APPLY THROUGH LINKEDIN.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled — so don't sit on it!
No phone calls or walk-ins, please. All applications kept completely confidential.
