Mia Bella Pediatrics | Aliso Viejo, CA

Part-Time | Paid | On-Site

Build 2,000 Hours of Meaningful Direct Patient Care Experience

Are you preparing for a career in healthcare and looking for more than a traditional shadowing experience?

Mia Bella Pediatrics is seeking motivated pre-health students to join our structured Paid Pre-Health Clinical Internship Program. This is not a traditional shadowing opportunity or short-term internship—it is a progressive, paid clinical training program designed to provide approximately 2,000 hours of direct patient care experience while working alongside board-certified pediatricians.

Our interns become valued members of our healthcare team while developing the clinical, communication, leadership, and patient care skills expected of competitive applicants to Physician Assistant, Medical School (MD/DO), Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other graduate healthcare programs.

What You'll Learn

Through a structured, progressive training program, interns gain experience in:

• Patient rooming and vital signs

• Medical documentation and electronic medical records (EMR)

• Point-of-care laboratory testing

• Vaccination preparation and administration (following competency training)

• Pediatric clinical workflow

• Patient communication and education

• Physician mentorship

• Exposure to clinical decision-making

• Leadership and mentorship opportunities for senior interns

As interns demonstrate competency, responsibilities progressively increase through a structured training pathway under physician supervision.

Ideal Applicants

• Physician Assistant (PA)

• Medicine (MD/DO)

• Nursing

• Physical Therapy

• Occupational Therapy

• Nurse Practitioner

• Other healthcare professions

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of at least 100 hours as a COPE Health Scholar or equivalent hands-on healthcare experience

• Strong interest in a healthcare career

• Excellent professionalism and reliability

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently following training

• Strong attention to detail

Important Commitment

This is not a short-term internship or summer position.

Our internship is intentionally designed as a longitudinal clinical training program that provides approximately 2,000 hours of progressive direct patient care experience, typically completed over approximately two years depending on weekly availability.

Because of the extensive physician training, mentorship, and progressive responsibilities provided, we are seeking applicants who are committed to completing the full internship program.

Applicants seeking only a few months of experience or temporary employment are unlikely to be a good fit.

Why Mia Bella Pediatrics?

Unlike many clinical experiences that consist primarily of observation, our interns become active members of the healthcare team while working directly with experienced pediatricians in an independent private practice.

• Approximately 2,000 hours of direct patient care experience
