Position Summary

Tweedy, Browne Company LLC is seeking an experienced Head of ETF Trading to lead the trading function for the firm's ETF platform. This is a unique opportunity to help build and shape the trading infrastructure for a growing ETF business within one of the industry's most respected long-term, value-oriented investment managers. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing ETF portfolio transactions, developing strategic relationships across the ETF ecosystem, and establishing scalable trading processes and capabilities. Working closely with Portfolio Management, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance, and external counterparties, this individual will play a key role in ensuring efficient execution and operational excellence while supporting the firm's disciplined investment philosophy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the firm's ETF trading function, overseeing the execution of ETF portfolio transactions and the continued development of trading capabilities.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with key participants throughout the U.S. ETF ecosystem, including authorized participants (APs), market makers, liquidity providers, broker-dealers, exchanges, and custodians.
  • Execute and oversee ETF portfolio trading across multiple execution venues while managing order flow efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Develop and enhance trading workflows, systems, and best practices to support a scalable ETF platform.
  • Partner with internal technology teams and external service providers to improve trading systems, workflow automation, and execution efficiency.
  • Coordinate capital requirements and settlement needs associated with ETF creations, redemptions, and portfolio rebalances.
  • Work with internal data and technology teams to ensure ETF trading and market data are accurately captured, retained, and readily accessible.
  • Support due diligence and ongoing review of Authorized Participants and other ETF trading counterparties.
  • Collaborate closely with Portfolio Management, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Fund Administration, and Technology teams to ensure seamless execution and operational integrity.
  • Monitor developments in ETF market structure, trading practices, and regulatory requirements, recommending enhancements as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain trading policies, procedures, and controls that support best execution and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and train team members as the ETF platform continues to expand.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deep knowledge of the ETF industry, including ETF market structure, creation and redemption processes, portfolio trading, liquidity, pricing, and market participants.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships across the U.S. ETF marketplace.
  • Experience managing both automated and directed order flow across multiple execution venues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Approximately 4–10 years of progressively responsible experience in ETF trading, capital markets, or ETF operations.
  • Strong understanding of ETF portfolio trading, ETF pricing, NAV calculations, and creation/redemption processes.
  • Experience working with ETF market participants, including authorized participants, market makers, broker-dealers, and liquidity providers.
