The Work

LAUSD's Asset Management group supports the planning, design, and construction of educational facility projects across the District. As a Design Associate, you support the Planning and Development staff: you read and interpret architectural, engineering, and planning documents, review plans against LAUSD standards and federal, state, and local codes, and keep the paperwork that moves projects forward complete and accurate.

Day to day you support the management of architectural-engineering contracts and services, review and prepare internal documentation for approval by other District branches (A/E contracts, A/E invoices), collect and organize data for studies, reports, and presentations, and maintain project files with current technical information.

You help coordinate project activities with District branches including Environmental Health and Safety, A/E Design Services, Maintenance and Operations, the Furniture and Interiors Group, Project Execution, and Local Districts, and you take part in community outreach for District building projects. Four positions are open.
