Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our clients maintenance team working on a fleet of garbage and refuse trucks and equipment. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other vehicle components
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on refuse trucks
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Repair or replace brakes, suspension components, steering systems, and driveline parts
- Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately
- Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
- Follow company safety procedures and regulations
Requirements
Qualifications
- Previous diesel mechanic experience preferred
- Experience with heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, or refuse trucks is a plus
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems preferred
- Own basic mechanic tools preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
- Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in various positions throughout the day
- Comfortable working in a shop environment and outdoors when needed
- Ability to perform physically demanding work safely
