Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Referral Coordinator for our Charlotte, NC location. The Referral Coordinator acts as a key liaison between referring providers, patients, and our clinical team to ensure a smooth and efficient referral process. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to provide outstanding service to both patients and providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage and process incoming referral requests specific to the Charlotte, NC site.
- Communicate with referring providers to obtain all necessary clinical information and clarify referral details.
- Schedule patient appointments promptly, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient care delivery.
- Maintain accurate referral logs and documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
- Monitor referral statuses and provide timely updates to both patients and providers.
- Address patient inquiries regarding referrals and additional dermatology services at the Arden location.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve referral workflows and processes.
- Participate in department meetings and training as required.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office environment, preferably in dermatology or related specialty.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with providers, patients, and internal teams to facilitate timely care.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
