Continuity Biosciences is a clinical stage biotechnology company in the Cary, North Carolina area. We develop precision drug delivery platforms that change how and where therapies reach patients, across oncology, Type 1 diabetes, HIV prevention, and medical aesthetics. Our lead oncology program has advanced into its first clinical trial in patients. We are a small, fast-moving team building a company where individual ownership has outsized impact.
The Role
We are hiring an Office and Operations Manager to be the operational backbone of the company. Reporting to the Chief Business Officer and working closely with our Head of Finance, you will keep HR, the office, IT and security, finance support, executive support, and business development coordination running smoothly, so our leadership and technical teams can focus on advancing our pipeline. This is a hands on, in office role for someone who is exceptionally organized, trustworthy with confidential information, and energized by wearing many hats in a small company.
What You'll Do
People and HR operations
• Own onboarding and offboarding, including equipment, accounts, and benefits setup.
• Administer benefits enrollment and coordinate with our HR platform.
• Maintain employee records, time off tracking, and basic HR compliance.
• Support recruiting logistics, including interview scheduling and offer paperwork.
Office and administration
• Run day to day office operations for our Cary site, supporting supplies, vendors, facilities, and visitors.
• Coordinate in office meals and kitchen supplies, and keep the office and kitchen clean and presentable, including resetting the space after catered lunches and events.
• Maintain organized digital files and shared systems.
IT and security
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for office IT, connectivity, access control, telephony, and physical security.
• Coordinate employee and visitor access, including badges, building access, guest reception, and escort procedures.
• Coordinate with external internet, telecom, and security providers to support uptime, troubleshooting, and service continuity.
• Help ensure conference rooms, shared equipment, and office technology are ready for meetings, reviews, board meetings, and partner visits.
Finance support
• Support accounts payable, including coding invoices and preparing batch payments for approval by the Head of Finance.
• Administer the corporate credit card program, including coding and cardholder support.
• Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
• Provide payroll inputs such as new hires, time off, and changes to the Head of Finance.
• Support monthly accounting operations in partnership with the Head of Finance.
Business development support
• Schedule and confirm partner and investor calls once outreach is approved and keep the CRM current.
• Assemble and format partner materials and presentations.
• Coordinate advisory board logistics and route contracts for signature.
Executive support
• Manage calendars for our CEO and Executive Chair, and support the CBO, CTO, and COO calendars as needed.
• Arrange travel and coordinate meeting logistics, including board and shareholder meetings.
• Initiate and coordinate team meetings, offsites, and culture activities.
What You'll Bring
• 4 to 7 years in operations, office management, or business and finance operations, ideally at a startup or small company.
• Experience managing executive calendars, travel, and complex event coordination.
• Comfort serving as the onsite contact for office IT, access, and facilities, coordinating with outside providers.
• Hands on experience with accounts payable, expense management, and basic HR administration; familiarity with tools such as Bill.com is a plus.
• Exceptional organization and reliability, with discretion around confidential financial and personnel information.
• A clear communicator who is professional and polished with external partners and investors.
• Someone who thrives in a lean, fast moving, in office environment and embraces continuous change.
Location & Work Arrangement
This is a full time, in office role based at our Cary, North Carolina site. Because it supports our physical office, IT and security, executive team, and finance operations, it is not a remote position.
