Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Quality Supervisor to lead day-to-day quality and food safety activities in a fast-paced food production environment. The Quality Supervisor will ensure products meet customer, regulatory and company standards by overseeing quality control processes, driving continuous improvement and supporting the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variation and waste.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach the quality control team, assign daily tasks and ensure consistent application of quality procedures.
  • Manage in-process and finished-goods inspections, sampling, testing and product release according to established specifications.
  • Maintain and enforce food safety programs including HACCP, GMPs, allergen control and sanitation schedules.
  • Conduct internal audits, support third-party and customer audits, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Use root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools (5 Whys, fishbone, FMEA) to investigate quality incidents and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, R&D and supply chain to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles to reduce defects, improve yield and optimize processes.
  • Monitor quality metrics (yield, scrap, customer complaints, non-conformances) and prepare clear reports and trend analyses for management.
  • Manage supplier quality performance, review certificates of analysis and coordinate supplier corrective actions when needed.
  • Develop, deliver and maintain training programs on quality procedures, food safety and inspection techniques for production staff.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of quality experience in food production or a related manufacturing environment, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP), GMPs, allergen control and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools; Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) or demonstrable project experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis tools; comfortable working with Excel and quality management software.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including root cause investigation and CAPA implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train, influence and build cross-functional relationships.
  • Attention to detail, organized documentation practices and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Certifications such as HACCP, ServSafe, ISO 22000/9001 or equivalent are a plus; willingness to work flexible shifts as required.
