About The Role
The Post Closer – Trailing Docs/MERS Specialist is responsible for curing investor and custodian exceptions related to the recorded mortgage deed and final title insurance policy, as well as assisting with MERS.

- Receiving and processing recorded mortgages and title insurance policies
- Reviewing final documents for accuracy and completeness
- Review and log incoming closed loan packages, verify original notes and deeds, and securely store or track sensitive physical documents.
- Prepare and ship collateral files to warehouse banks or investors, ensuring strict delivery deadlines are met.
- Update loan origination systems to reflect the current status of collateral files and documentation
- Conduct quality assurance checks
- Data entry, research, and record keeping
- Communicate effectively with title companies, investors, and custodians
- MERS support including MERS portfolio review and reconciliation
- Regular on-site attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 to 2 years prior experience in post closing, Collateral Delivery, trailing documents, and MERS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective business writing, time management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle detailed assignments
- Ability to prioritize workload while meeting deadlines
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally effectively
