Registered Nurse SANE Adult - Per Diem

Role: RN SANE Adult

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, cost-effective care to sexual assault patients, including physical assessments, forensic exams, evidence collection, and documentation.
• Perform evidence collection with proper chain of custody, obtain patient consents, and facilitate forensic photography.
• Offer crisis intervention, ensure patient privacy, and coordinate with law enforcement and advocacy groups as needed.
• Educate patients on exams, procedures, STD prevention, pregnancy, and follow-up care.
• Participate in training, community education, and provide legal testimony when required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completed IAFN-accredited SANE A course with Illinois clinical component.
• Preferred: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, emergency medicine or women’s health experience, and at least one year of SANE RN experience.
• Current Illinois RN licensure and appropriate certification or approval to practice in Illinois.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of forensic exam procedures, evidence management, and patient-centered care.
• Strong communication, documentation, and crisis intervention skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hospital setting.
