The role involves providing physics services for the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment, ensuring adherence to the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
It includes offering technical leadership, such as clinical set-up expertise, to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists.
Responsibilities also encompass performing quality assurance checks on all departmental equipment in compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Medical Physics or related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a radiation therapy department or completion of a CAMPEP-approved residency
- Licenses and Certifications: (R) ARDMS or ARRT, Radiographer Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation Physics, and ability to be listed as an authorized user on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material License
- Participation in the American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Program
