Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current facility’s capabilities. We are a company with a dedicated focus on responsiveness, quality, and customer support, we are working hard to match the growing global and domestic demand for these advanced materials.

Job Purpose

Support the Quality Manager in establishing, maintaining, and administering an effective internal audit program to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards. Assist in preparation and execution of second- and third-party audits. Administer document control processes, ensuring standardization and compliance. Support the development and maintenance of document retention systems. Maintain training matrices and ensure accurate organization and retention of training records.

Principal Accountabilities

    • Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, assist in assuring compliance with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards.
    • Under supervision of the Quality Manager, help to coordinate, implement, and execute the internal quality audits for the Sacramento site.
    • Under the direction of the Quality Manager, assist in the execution of second- and third-party audits.
    • Completely and accurately record required metrics of the Quality Department.
    • Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, review all changes in document control, document management and auditing processes and assess impact on the effectiveness of QMS.
    • Create, update, and maintain work instructions (WI), procedure (SOP), forms, and logs.
    • Validate and maintain Operations and Lab training records and related documents.
    • Assist with coordinating and administering training.
    • Participate in educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and seminars/webinars.
    • Support the floor level employees assigned at MCCFC Sacramento.
    • Works with management and corporate governing teams to accurately record performance data to verify meeting strategic Quality goals.
    • Follow safety and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Support and execute the deployment of other Quality duties and projects as assigned/as required by top-management.
    • This is a 100% onsite role.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • High school diploma required. Associate's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience supporting Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of document control, change management, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing quality auditing techniques, quality tools, and structured problem-solving methods to support manufacturing operations and Quality Management System compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, manufacturing processes, quality documentation, auditing principles, and applicable regulatory and customer requirements.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification and/or AS9100 Internal Auditor training is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience utilizing SharePoint, ERP systems, electronic document management systems, and other quality-related software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, maintain quality documentation, interpret procedures and standards, and support quality system compliance activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely access manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and office environments while performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently with general direction while effectively managing multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to recognize issues requiring escalation and exercise sound judgment in resolving routine quality matters.
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functional areas while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to prepare quality documentation, communicate quality requirements, gather and analyze information, and effectively communicate with associates, leadership, customers, auditors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work on-site on a full-time basis. This position is designated as a 100% on-site role, and regular, reliable attendance at the assigned work location is an essential function of the position.

  • The hourly range for this position is $ 30.00/hr - $35.00/hr. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
