Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable
Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining all hard surface floors and carpeted areas throughout the facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and professional appearance while helping create a comfortable environment for our residents.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain all hard surface floors through stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and refinishing.
- Operate floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and carpet cleaning machines.
- Dust mop, wet mop, and clean hallways, entrances, resident areas, and common spaces.
- Perform routine floor inspections and address areas requiring additional attention.
- Shampoo and extract carpets as needed.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and floor maintenance programs.
- Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Clean and maintain floor care equipment after each use.
- Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs to the supervisor.
- Assist with housekeeping duties in resident rooms and common areas when needed.
- Follow all facility safety, infection control, and environmental services procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous floor care, environmental services, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
- Experience operating floor maintenance equipment is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and follow assigned schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respect toward elderly and disabled individuals.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating floor care equipment.
