Client Services Director, Alpha - $200,000/year USD
Crossover
You've been in the room with a family and understood that the truthful response was no. Delivering that truth came at a price: a target, your manager's favor, a deal. In this role, that truth is your responsibility.
Alpha operates as a private K-12 school network. Students complete their academic work in roughly two hours each day, then dedicate the remainder to developing practical skills—and the test results validate the approach. This is an on-site position at a single campus, in person daily, located in one of 12 markets: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT. You will select your preferred market during the application process.
Families invest significant tuition, conduct thorough due diligence, and challenge you with substantive questions about rigor and standards within the first ten minutes. The model functions only when enrolled families genuinely align with its philosophy. In a compact cohort, even one misaligned family alters the dynamic for all.
You will take ownership of the complete admissions cycle for a single campus. Initial inquiry, alignment discussion, campus walkthrough, student shadow visit, enrollment decision. You become the consistent point of contact for that family from inquiry through the child's first day. A representative week includes: responding to all inquiries within four hours, guiding a doubtful father through the afternoon session, facilitating a shadow day, maintaining records in HubSpot, and phoning a family to explain their child would thrive better elsewhere. You'll manage 20 or more families concurrently, each at varying stages. You assess compatibility, and you communicate outcomes—face to face, in your own language.
The network continues to expand, and operational protocols develop alongside it. Those who establish success in a market author the reference materials, the selection standards, and the benchmarks that future campuses adopt—and they become the trusted name that affluent families in their region share with one another.
This is an on-site position at one campus, in person daily. Profiles that succeed in this role: enrollment and admissions leaders from selective institutions; premium consumer advisors whose client was a household—such as high-end real estate professionals, private wealth consultants, or boutique practice proprietors; and hospitality or private service managers who have orchestrated bespoke experiences for exacting clientele. If this describes you, submit your application and specify your desired market.
What You Will Be Doing
- Taking full ownership of the enrollment experience for each prospective family, from initial inquiry to onboarding, and conducting a substantive needs evaluation before any presentation.
- Managing 20 or more active family relationships concurrently, responding to every inquiry promptly and reviewing applications on a daily basis.
- Conducting campus tours, open house events, information sessions, and shadow days that clearly demonstrate who this model serves and who it does not.
- Determining the admission or non-admission recommendation and personally communicating that decision to the family.
- Maintaining up-to-date records in HubSpot and the student information system (SIS) following each interaction, leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for preparation and documentation, and providing weekly pipeline updates to leadership.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Pursuing enrollment volume targets. A family that enrolls and departs represents a worse outcome than a family you decline upfront.
- Being overruled on compatibility assessments to preserve a relationship or meet a yield goal.
- Executing scripted pitches, high-pressure call campaigns, or discount-driven closing tactics.
- Transferring families through a series of coordinators, or awaiting committee approval for standard communications.
- Conducting superficial campus tours that sidestep difficult questions.
Client Services Director Key Responsibilities
Enroll the families who are the right fit for one campus and ensure that even those who are declined experience respectful, high-quality service.
Basic Requirements
- 3 or more years in a client-facing capacity where the buyer was an individual or family at $25,000 or more per client, or $2,000 or more monthly. (Direct B2C/D2C only; B2B and enterprise sales do not qualify.)
- You have directly managed a client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial inquiry to final commitment.
- You have concurrently managed 7 or more client relationships using a CRM, database, or similar tracking system.
- You have advised a prospective client against purchasing, enrolling, or joining due to misalignment.
- You have integrated AI tools into a client-facing process.
- You communicate with clarity and professionalism in both verbal and written exchanges with executives, high-net-worth clients, or similarly discerning audiences.
- You can cultivate a multi-touchpoint relationship spanning 30 or more days and maintain engagement with families not yet ready for enrollment.
- You currently reside in, or will relocate within 60 days to, an available campus market: Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, La Jolla, or Malibu, CA; Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Greenwich, CT; Nashville, TN; or Park City, UT.
- Willing to work on-site at your assigned campus every day.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Admissions or enrollment leadership experience at a selective private, independent, or boarding institution.
- Background in luxury residential real estate, private banking, family office services, concierge healthcare, or premium event curation—where the household was your client.
- You designed the enrollment workflow or service protocols yourself rather than inheriting an established system.
- You have existing relationships with affluent families, preschools, or family advisors in one of the 12 markets.
- Owner-operator experience in which you personally sold, delivered, and retained high-value clients.
