Position Overview
The Enamel Wire Operator is responsible for using machines to apply enamel insulation to wires in accordance with manufacturers specifications and customer product orders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Rolls reel into jack, remove reels from payoff, reload reel or basket.
- Welds wire ends together to feed machine. Applies insulation.
- Monitors machine process, stop reel when full and change out, monitoring processes and controls to assure quality
- Maintains accurate inspection logs and reel labels
- Sets up ovens and runs wire through machines
- Uses and reads micrometers to measure wire, completes paperwork, records and enters data
- Place completed reel in designated location and communicates to supervisors and associates
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum Experience Required
- Entry level
License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
- Ability to follow plant work rules, work instructions, safety rules and established processes, procedures & practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Ability to use tools including wire cutters, pliers, wrenches, hammer, micrometers, and computer
